Question EMB on a 99 Miata

Hi all, I've just installed an EMB on a 99 Miata with all the maps set at 0, I've checked the jumpers and AAV settings, plus the main unit parameter settings in the EMB, but the car runs like crap on it.

The car will maintain both a cold idle (c.1,100 rpm) and a hot idle (c.900 rpm) on the EMB though, albeit it sounds like a tank doing it.

It's a really rough idle, sounds like the car isn't running on all cylinders. When I remove the EMB and run the standard unaltered ECU, it takes quite a few cranks to fire, possibly because of lack of fuel from when the EMB was installed, then it runs fine?

I wired the EMB into its harness as per the manual. I didn't jumper the injector leads together as I've seen in a guide to the Emanage Ultimate - I spliced each ECU injector lead into the relevant injector lead for the EMB as per the EMB manual. In the EMU that these injector leads are cut and jumpered. Could this be the cause of the problem?

I have clamped the AFR signal wire with the resistor in line to ground as per the manual, but removing that clamp makes no difference to the running.

When you say "jumpering" you mean tieing in two injectors to to one source from the EMB. I don't know about your car's installation instructions, but on mine I am to actually put two injectors to one of the two injector signals from the EMB.

Also the injector wires are simply spliced into and not actually severed like the igntion wires are.
