1. No posts that attack, insult, "flame", defame, or abuse members or non-members. Respect other members of the community and don't belittle, make fun of, or insult another member or non-member. These types of verbal attacks will not be tolerated.
2. Do not expect the members of the community to go out of their way to aid you if you were given advice here that you willingly disregarded and suffered a negative result from your actions. All advice exchanged here is "Use at your own risk". No member of the Administration team will deliberatey steer you in a bad direction. All advice given is to the best of our knowledge or from our own personal experiences of what works and what does not work. The DIYTuning Forums are not responsible for damage done to your vehicle resulting from advice obtained from these forums.
3. No use of sexually explicit, obscene or vulgar language or images and/or messages, including racist remarks.
4. Do not disrespect moderators. Be respectful in both the forums and any private communications with moderators. Moderators are volunteers that donate many, many hours of their own time to help in the forums. Violations of this rule will not be tolerated.
5. Please be respectful of others at all times. The purpose of this community is to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas as well as benefit the entire tuning community. To create a centralized location on the internet where anyone can get their problem resolved with the help of others around the world. Occasionally, there will be conflicts that arise when people voice opinions. Be courteous when disagreeing with others. It is possible to disagree without being insulting.
6. Trolling is prohibited. Trolling is the word used to describe a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting the members of the forum community. Posts of this nature are disruptive and do not convey a friendly attitude. Do not post comments in threads with the sole purpose to cause an argument. You are free to express your opinion on a matter, but this is not the place to abuse anyone who doesn't have the same opinion as you. Repeat trolling will result in a ban.
7. Immediate banning from the forum can result from any of the following: The posting of pornography; discriminatory remarks which are sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive; excessive obscene or vulgar language; posts which discuss or illustrate illegal activity; providing links to sites that contain any of the aforementioned.
8. Users may not argue a moderators decision publicly. Any and all complaints directed at a moderator must first address the moderator in question via PM. If the problem can’t be resolved, then the moderator and user must send their positions to the forum admin. The forum admin will make or change any and/or all final decisions. If you are caught arguing a decision publicly you will be banned for a period of time to be determined by the administrators
9. Any impersonation of a user from these forums, in any mode of communication, is strictly prohibited and will result in a banning.
10. No All Caps. This is seen as rude. Please don't do it.
11. No Excessive Bumping. If people want to reply to your thread they will do so. Please don't post repeatedly in your own thread to bump it. You may make a bumping post if 48 hours have past and your topic has received no reply, however, if it's a thread related to an urgent situation then you may bump your thread once every 24 hours.
12. Start a new thread intelligently. When asking for assistance, please use a descriptive subject to illustrate your situation and be sure to use a thread prefix to make your thread stand out. If you have technical issue with the site please use the thread “SUPPORT TICKET”.
Only use the following examples if you have done an installation and your car will not start or if you have completed a tune and something went horribly wrong:
"Help Please!" or "Need Help!”
13. No Post/Topic Spamming. Do not post the same topic and/or post in multiple forums. We realize sometimes this happens within the same topic due to technical issues but other than that this is strictly prohibited unless your topic actually applies to multiple boards.
14. No PM Spamming. Spamming unsolicited messages through the use of the PM (Private Message) system is strictly prohibited. You will be warned and/or banned.
15. No linking to viruses, referral sites, or maliciously coded websites either in your signature or in your post. This will result in an immediate permanent ban.
16. No making "Hi, I'm new", "I'm back", or "I'm leaving DIY" threads without significant content pertinent to your situation.
17. No begging of the Administration Team, this includes the admins and mods. The Head Administrator is happy to promote fit users to a position of authority if they display the proper attitude, responsibility, discipline, and maturity. One way to show the exact opposite of all of these qualities is to ask for a position of authority. If you're fit for the position, we will find you, not vice-versa. Violation of this will result in a Warning; repeated offenses will result in a Ban.
18. No Ban Contesting. Though we like to have an open dialogue with our users, a ban will stay a ban. Please do not log on under a different account or send an e-mail to ask why you have been banned. If you are unable to realize why you were banned, your lack of understanding of the Rules is probably the reason itself. If you log on under a different account somehow after a banning, you will once again be Banned.

19. No Porn. Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene is not permitted on these forums. Topics/posts/links containing such will be deleted on sight. This includes private messaging. If you violate this rule, your account may be automatically banned without prior warning.
20. No Cross-posting. Posting the same question in more than one Forum is not allowed. Should this occur, then only the thread in the most relevant Forum will be left open; all others will be locked and subsequently deleted.
The Warning System is set up for 3 Warnings. You will be able to see them as infractions under your profile/user cp as well as on some threads. When you get 3 of these, you are then automatically banned.
21. We understand it may seem like a lot of rules however, they are in place so everyone has a fair chance to enjoy the community and get their situations resolved and/or learn from others. Do not be a hindrance to the enjoyment of others.
