the UDMA cable from a computer with the 4th pin cut off can be used through the boost port for a number of options, you can use your own makeshift boost sensor. I.E.... (use a GM 3 or 4 Bar map sensor instead of a factory one or a Greddy MAP Sensor) or you can use it to log air fuel ration in the form of lambda or voltage through the emb.
Very nice wiring job you did there!

thats the floppy power cable... i use it to log a/f in lambda in alphatools because it exports to excel.
and thanks!

Hey, where can I get a current copy of the alpha tools? i have an older one that doesn't do anything when I try to install it. I am running Win Vista Basic. Do I need to install somehow using a compatibility mode? Your help is appreciated.

We have the EmanageTools in the "Downloads" section. That one works.
As for the Emanage Alpha Tools I would like to know as well as there seems to be an emanage alpha tools with functions unlike the emanagetools that we have up here.
Has these features/options that I have outlined in red here.

If that's the ALPHA version I sure would like to give that a whirl.
Talked about more HERE (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=113767).

Well, I thought that since I have the latest .net framework (5.6 or something) that I would be able to use this... I guess not. Sorry I didn't try installing the .net version 1.1 earlier. Thanks and don't make the same mistake people.

I will contact greddy myself on Monday to discuss this issue with vista. Maybe together we will come up with a solution for everyone. Will post an update when i receive feedback.

The latest .NET framework is 3.5. Anything written for a lower version will run with this. If you are running Vista 64-bit, the driver for the serial/usb cable is at fault. The driver is 32 bit only.
For those who don't know, Alpha is programming lingo for very early version, so expect bugs, hiccups, crashes, etc. with Emanage Tools Alpha.

problem here is that i dont think they're making a tools bravo. Last i heard it's not even in the works unless one of us decides to take it upon ourselves to develop the program further, greddy sank all its eggs into the ultimate.

The programmer who wrote Emanage Tools released the source code, but I've been unable to find it yet. I'm a programmer myself, and I have a good deal of practice with .NET programming making database programs for my job. If you have the source, could you post it in the downloads section? I could probably help with debugging it a bit, and maybe look at adding features as time progresses. The programmer who wrote it already did all the real work of getting the data in, so the stuff we're looking for is reliable operation and easy, readable, display of the data.
I think it would be possible build an autotune feature as well. It wouldn't be true autotune, but rather, analysis of data logs from which the program could build tables (based on your target AFR) which could then be entered into the emanage via the support tool. We would have to figure out the variables required to do the math on this, and it may very well not be worth the effort since plenty of people do just fine already, but it's an example. I know there's plenty of technically minded people on here, and definitely enough people to do testing.
I say we get a few of us together and take a look at expanding on emanage tools.

Are you friggin kidding?!!! That would be awesome to have the emanage.tools cleaned up. Anybody know how to get in touch with the guy--Hau?
Actually, the Alpha version don't even intialize.

Found the source here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/eman-tools/
I'll take a look at it when I get more time. No guarantees on my part...the guy who wrote this knows more than me. Also it looks like there was an autotune feature already in development!

I will take a look at the source code also when I have more time to actually study it. If we proceed ahead with this we must ensure it's stable enough for vista users.

I would be willing to help test.
I've also got a thumbdrive with Windows 7 all setup for the netbook, so I can test that as well.

It just amazes me when companies sell a piggy back worth NIB around 600 or so with software and monopolized serial cable and then start reading all these glitches and problems people go through.
I have experienced many problems as well in terms of connection and software accessability.
