Emanage unit update?

Iv downloaded the emanage 1.49 support tool from this site and hooked my laptop to the emanage. it comes online but all the features on the tool become unclickable apart from unit update. Iv clicked update unit update but it fails, anybody help me out?

I haven't yet played around much with my emanage, but I think you need to "Import Data From Unit" or reload your map file. I'm thinking that when you updated the software versions your map was zeroed out. Just a guess at how the software might be working, not concrete.

Start by rebooting your computer completely, Sometimes if there is not enough power going to your laptop then the update will fail. Next check your com port. You'll know it's right becuase when it's selected you'll see "online" near the bottom right of the Support Tool Screen.

Next Go ahead and open up your map file, it'll be a .GSC extension file. Then click on main unit update this exports the data to the emb. If this fails let us know and I will guide you from there. We'll get it fixed.

ye im getting "online" down in the bottom of the screen so iv got the com port right. It trys to update but it fails every time. :confused:

Iv noticed the communication led on the emanage stays orange, isnt it suppose to turn green when connected up with my laptop? Its probly something to do with the diy cable im using.

What DIY cable you got? So you never used that cable before to communicate with the emanage? I believe the interaction light should flash while communicating.

no iv never had it working with my emanage before. I made it my self recently by following the diy guide. Iv checked all the wiring and its exactly how it shud be. The emanage was previously installed and mapped by a tuner.

Im now using the official cable and software now, followed the steps in the instructions to make sure i did everything perfect but the update is still failing. the com port is correct. I dont what to do now? :confused: Please help!!

what version emanage and what version software?

version 1.49 software, i dont know what version emanage it is. It was tuned 2 year ago by a tuner thats the best i can do if thats any help lol. I think i might have some progress though, its saying corresponding now and the time is going up for the update. The only difference being a different laptop being used. How long does an update usually take? its taken 30mins so far but no bars are appearing underneath the time but the time keeps going. Thanks in advance

I dont know whats wrong with mine then. Iv tried v1.11 and v1.49 using the greddy cable but with no luck updating. Can any body shed some light on this? When i look to see what version emanage i have it dont say. Anyting i can try?

can you access the emanange at all? is it wired into your car? is it not wired up?

sorted the problem. Changed a setting on my laptop for the port. Origanally x on x off changed to hardware which sorted it. updated in two minutes. I dont know what made me think of messing with the settings but it works now.
