Wazup peeps. My name is Travis, people online know me as RhythmnSmoke. I own a 2006 Scion tC that I have been building for some time now. I have had this car for about 3 years now, and it's raced quite often. I have raced this car in N/A'ed form and Boosted. I am mostly known for the youtube videos I have made with this car as well as my 350z. A lot of people are not that familiar with the Scion tC and there are quite a number of misconceptions about it. The most widely used negative attack I come across is "You drive a two door camry" or "you got a camry motor". That's the most wide know attack I get, but it's all good still.

Just a few facts for anyone looking to learn about other cars, here are some things about the tC that people don't know or aren't use to.

- It is a low 15sec 1/4 mile car.

In this vid, my tC is on the left side, my fiance is actually driving in this vid, we had just an exhaust. The tC over to the right is running 14.7-14.9 with I/H/E crank pulley.

http://media.putfile.com/NA-tC-runs

- Shares the engine of the Camry, but there are variances from the tC to the Camry engine specs

- The TRD Supercharger for the tC puts it at 200whp (not 200crank). But because it's a Centrifugal type it's super weak even for 200whp. A tC with I/H/E can/will hang right next to a S/C'er only tC.

- Turbo's on the tC will change the car into a completely different animal. 2.4L 2az-fe engine + boost is awesome. 8 PSI = anywhere from 250-300whp and 260-310wtq depending on turbo. 10 PSI = 300+whp/300+wtq. That's a great feature to have (more tq than you do hp).

On 9 lbs, untuned (10.0 a/f) and crappy tires, I managed a 13.5 @ 109mph.

I'm not doing AS much drag racing this season. I'm focusing my efforts in Time Attack.

I have been influenced by the likes of Chris Rado from World Racing. Their Time Attack tC (nicknamed Black Betty), has taken home numerous class championships. They are the current Unlimited FF Time Attack champs. They also have set the fastest FWD laps at circuits like Button Willow and Willow Springs. It presently dyno's around 700whp.

This is the World Racing TA tC.

My other influence has been that of PTuning. They ran 330whp with Meth. injection on a stock motor tC for the first half of the season last year. That's 330whp on a dyno dynamics. Later they put in their fully built motor, and now makes a little over 500whp (dyno dynamic as well).

This is PTuning's TA tC.

So, with that said, I have begun my own TA build with my own money and efforts. Here is a little of what I've had to work on.

I sold my old turbo kit which looked like this.

My new kit will be that of the PTuning turbo kit. Comes with a GT3076r turbine.

Ok, On to my own car build.

Coming right off of the World Racing Scion tC's back. The wing on Chris Rado's TA car is now going onto my car. Their crew chief for the TA car just sold me the wing. They are redoing the body of the car, so they are selling the front bumper and flared fenders as well. Wish I could have picked those up too, but I really wanted an APR GT carbon Fiber wing. The timing was perfect. So, now instead of paying full price, I got a good deal and a piece of one of the tC's I look up to. Before you ask, my tC is getting prepped for Time Attack this season. So, hence the reason for my purchase. Got it at one helluva price too.

I have some other parts already purchased. Here are just a sample of what's going onto the tC to get it ready.

Older pic when I had the RS1 CF front lip. Broke it trying to put the car up on a trailer). Will be replaced by an APR front splitter (sorry for the water mark, but there were like 2 Ebay sites using a picture of my car to try and sell CF fenders for the tC without my permission). The Ismokeguys screen name is that of my fiance. She races sometimes too.

This is the PTuning turbo kit manifold. My turbo kit will be that of the PTuning's and it will run the GT3076r turbine.

Thanks for the props man.

The tC has a 2.4L engine, so it spools pretty good. The GT3076r is a Ball Bearing so that helps even more.

This is the in car video of when I was taking a ride in the PTuning Time Attack tC that runs the GT3076r as well. This was when it was on a stock motor 14lbs of boost + Meth injection. Running Emanage Ultimate (which is what I have also).

im suprised a stock motor can hold that much boost..

Why the surprise? The F22 block can handle 12 without meth injection.

PTuning has one helluva tuner. The methanol injection was used for a safety net, but it's a very nice stout motor. Surprised a lot of people when I boosted it. I was racing STI's, Evo's, 350z's, S2k's and the like. Just on 8lbs and pulling pretty hard on those cars. Some modded some stock.

Why the surprise? The F22 block can handle 12 without meth injection.

That's how much I run also. 12lbs daily. The tC handles about 350-400whp before you need to start thinking about internals to the engine. On 12lbs it pulls really nice. Can't wait to put the meth on and 14lbs of boost. I won't do that for the street class Time Attack though. The rules only allow a 140 UTQG tire, so that would be to much boost for that grip.

Here is when I was on 12lbs on my old turbo kit (20G turbo). I was working on the tune a little.

is that smoke from a blown turbo? is that y u upgrading to a gt30?

rhythmnsmoke

Yeah I blew my turbo a while back. But no not the reason for the upgrade. The PTuning kit can take me to 500+whp. My old kit (log manifold and 20g turbo) would not be as efficient at that amount of power.
