This Issues Originally Sent by GREDDY

Got sum oil in the FMI again and I did the usual wash it out with gas. Took off the greddy sponge air filter and put a fake K&N from the zone. now the car keeps givin me system rich codes. Ok must be sum residual gas in the intercooler so I take it apart again but there is nothing in the intercooler. So now Im thinkin what if Im starving the engine of air. And if it is the new air filter, y wudnt the codes be sum kind of MAF sensor or low oxygen code instead?

I had already sent him a response and we seem to have corrected the issue but if anyone else has any opinions on the matter please post up. I don't assume to know everything but i know alittle something something :)<!-- / message -->

I really have nothing to add or suggest about this, but I was wondering if those Greddy or HKS mushroom/sponge filters are like tons better for a turbo app then the standard CAI filter. Is it?

I think only in design are they better for turbo applications becuase they create less restriction for the compressor to suck in the air. the Standard CAI is long and odd shaped. That can be my only guess. Perhaps turbineguy would know more on flow characteristics of the two.
