Ok so I made my own jumper harness for my tercel and I tested it before using it it worked perfectly so I decided to wore my emb to it and I tried using it but it didn't give me any readings at all the car starts w it connected but bearly stays on so I'm wondering if I did something wrong below is where I got my wiring Info from any help is apreciated thanks...
Wiring
Fuel; Join orange/white and orange/black wires and splice into pin 25 connector 1
Join yellow/white and yellow/black wires and splice into pin 12 connector 1*
Splice Dark blue wire to pin 13 connector 1
Ignition; Cut wire to pin 6 connector 1, connect blue/white wire to pin 6 to ecu and blue/black joins to the pin 6 away from ecu. Make sure if you use fittings supplied with emanage the fittings are tight.*
Main; Splice red wire into pin 9 connector 2
Splice black wire into pin 24 connector 1
Splice brown wire into pin 7 connector 1
Splice grey wire into pin 17 connector 1 *(refer not at bottom of page)
Cut wire to pin 4 connector 1, connect green wire to pin 4 to ecu and white wire to pin 4 away from ecu. Make sure if you use fittings supplied with emanage the fittings are tight.

If it were me I wouldn't trust wiring the EMB by just the wire colors.
I would count the pinout's on both the EMB and your 4E ECU.
It's the only way to be sure that everything is correct.

Is your emanage new or used? Double check the power connections, low voltage and/or bad connections can do some weird things.

Can you connect to laptop to see some "real time display"?
Have you gotten all the jumpers and rotary dials set right?
As for lights, I forget what the different lights meant, but I thought that was in the manual. I never really paid attention to them much.

green = all systems check out ok and your good to go
red = means a trouble in the system and its trying to give a code to you
orange = is when the additional airflow map is actually working based on the side panel knobs..
what ecu are you using?? cuz the grey wire (throttle) on the ep82 ecu's is pretty much not usable for a signal..i used the grey and white wire together and it gave it a reading based on map voltage its a mod they use on the miata's and it worked out cool for me... good luck on your journey sir!!

Ah! So you can use your Airflow Adjustment Map throughout the map with that mod?
But isn't the left side scaling of that map locked into percentage--% of TP? If so, do you use a conversion or something?

I tried doing a live data thing but it still didn't give me anything so idk are there any settings that I have to do on the comp because I already did the rotary dials and the jumpers too so I know that's good...

What do you have for connections cables? Sounds like you aren't even getting the unit to communicate with your laptop. You have the greddy support tool right? And then does your laptop have serial port or do you have a serial-to-USB conversion cable.

Yes I have the support tool and I have a serial port converter to USB

So does it display as being connected? there's an icon in the upper right hand corner of the application that will indicate connected by flashing yellow/green I believe.

have you checked your com ports for communication?? ive ran into this problem the other day with my new netbook n windows vista the ports are not recognizeable the emb has 1-6 com ports my netbook had 7-8-9 and couldnt connect.. so double check that
dzaster : whats up buddy been a while no internet sucks big ones:D. but ill get some more details on that mod and ill post up...

Manny, sup bwaddah! Is that what's been going on? I thought maybe just life stuff. :D
Yeah, whatever details you can provide, be cool. Sounds interesting as the way things are I can't use the airflow adjustment map unless only by RPM.

You need to go back and check each wire and connection one by one.
I know its been said before but re-check those jumper's and dial's inside the
EMB.
I know you wired up your jumper harness so you may want to recheck that
also.

ok so i know it works because the emanage was used and it would start before i updated it so once i updated it now it wont start might there be some settings that need to be changed im guessing it would run off the map that was in there already and once updated it got erased maybe??

Are you talking the support tool or the emanage tools? They are two different programs. After you installed the program did you adjust your com port until it said "online"?

I'm talking about the emanage tools
