Hi all, I'm trying to get a recently acquired secondhand Emanage Blue working on a 1999 NB Mazda Miata (MX-5). The EMB was previously on a 2001-2005 NB Miata.
I haven't even tried hooking it up to a car yet as I'm struggling to get my PC to recognise it!
So far, I have:
- Downloaded an earlier version (1.11) of the Emanage Blue communication software, this opens and seems to run fine.
- Tried to download the latest update for the communication software from the greddy site - the file downloads but doesn't seem to update my greddy programme.
- Spliced the two main EMB harnesses into a boomslang, so that it's ready to install in the car and adjust airflow, ignition and injectors.
- Connected the spliced harness to the EMB.
- Connected 12V and ground to the correct wires on the harness (both "Active" green LED and "Interaction" yellow LED on the EMB light up).
- Connected EMB via USB port to PC via what I believe to be the communication harness (it's a black cable, male USB to serial female plug, has the writing E249790 AWM 2725 80*c 30V VW-1 28AWG/IP AND24AWG/2C HIGH SPEED USB 2.0 CABLE SPDS on it).
-I've used a male serial to male USB adaptor which has worked with other cables to connect the serial plug to my PC usb port.
The initial problem is that I can't get the programme to recognise the EMB it just reports that it's offline. I've tried changing ports in the settings menu, but this doesn't seem to solve the problem.
Can anyone on here offer any help please?
