In the support tool make sure you've updated to the latest version. It can be found here in the downloads area. Then make sure you COM port is set right. You find that by checking each one until you see the little "online" message in the bottom right hand corner of the support tool program.

Remember your ign has to be switched on (w/ out the car running) for the emb and the computer to talk.

Eddy, are your rotary and jumpers set correct? For our cars the rotary dials should be set to 2-4-0.

Those ratary dials are the 1,2,3 dials on the left in this pic.

For the jumpers they are pins on the circuit board that you have to bridge with a "jumper"(supplied). You wanna follow the ones in the box for our cars.

You don't need a based map unless your injectors are ridiculously large and thus flooding out your motor. If you do have large injectors then yeah you'd wanna at least have the Injector Auto Correct fuction set. However, if you have a totally different type of cars map loaded on there then that could definitely cause your car to not run right or run at all.

Probably. What car was the EMB in previously? Either way, I wouldn't drive with another car's tune on it. Zeroed/black map maybe.
