Just got my tunning cable. Some ???'s

I just got my cable from Giffin and wanted to get a check on my Emanage and be sure everything is OK. I bought it and was told it is OK but you know how buying online is.

OK I plugged it up and opened the tuning software but none of lights on the unit came on. Is this OK?

Is there anything I need to do to get it to acknowledge the unit?

Will I have to have the Unit wired up on my car to get it to acknowledge?

Any tips or other info to help a first time user out?

If there are no lights on the emanage on then the installation wasn't done correctly. Make sure you turn the ignition to on (without starting the car). Simply turning the accessory to on won't fire up the emb unit. Both lights should come on. One green and one orange/amber. Let me know if that helps.

LOL I have not hooked it up to the car yet at all. I was hoping I could get some sort of response from the unit before I spent the time hooking it up. I was told it is good but no guarentee. I have both Injector and Ignition harness as well as the MAP sensor and tuning cable.

It did flash green though when I hooked it up on the tuning software but none of the lights on the unit itself flashed.

also dont forget to set the comm port of the cable on the computer between 2 and 6

i know that i just hooked the power the the battery/Earth with fuse. Then connected laptop with cable. Worked a treat to update to 1.49.
So no need to hook up everything.
