Guys, this one is giving me a headache! Please help me!
This ole lady Vibrates like crazy when Air Conditioner is on and placed in Drive. The rev counter keeps fluctuating almost to stalling the engine.
Note well: Just overhaul engine: All Engine Mounts are OK, A/C throttle-up valve is good. Vacuum system is questionable though.

What is your advice?

SOMEONE PLEASE SEND ME A VACUUM DIAGRAM

- Single cam engine, 4 cylinders, Right Hand Drive, Automatic, Mfg. in Japan.

Jamaica - 'No Problem'

Look on the engine to tell me the stamp code on it. If your car is surging to the point of almost stalling out it sounds like your Fast Idle Thermovalve or Idle Air Control valves are the culprit. Chassis vibration with the AC on is normal for old hondas since the engine is being put under a stronger load than normal. The short term fix you can employ is to adjust your idle to 200 above your nomal idle. 1k rpm should help for now. I'll keep hunting for your diagram.

I've found on out cars the vibration from when AC is on and put in drive is a matter of torn motor mounts. Might wanna give that a look.

If there is a vacuum issue it will be present at a normal idle and be worse when put in drive and again worse when the AC is on. However it will still show up noticably without the AC. I suspect the idle air control motor. They operate with a stepper motor that wears out especially in the normal range of operation. The actual valve portion is a needle in a tapered seat that has a tendancy to get fouled with the same carbon build up that coats the throttle blade and throttle body housing and it may work properly again after it's cleaned. If it's old though it more than likely is the stepper motor and the whole IAC motor need to be replaced. All this is assuming that there are no vacuum issues. My .02 worth.
