so...is it true that a c.e.l. throws off the emanage?

I reset my battery the other day, and puta justa basic map that monkeywrench racing provided for a s/c'ed 9th gen corolla. It ran fine untill that c.e.l. came back on, then it started doing that lean jumping at 10vac on the boost gauge.

but...

the car also runs great and just the same a/f ratio at WOT with a c.e.l. on as it does without one on..

i dont get it?

I've heard you cant tune with a c.e.l. Is this true?

-----

What my car is doing is lean bursting for a split second at a certain point on the throttle position. I'm gonna make a video of it asap and post it here so you guys can actually see what im talking about. I've been dealing with this for over a year now.

Like,,,whenever my boost gauge is at 10 in vaccum, it throwns the a/f ratio up to 17 for a split second and then back down, and then a second or two later, it does it again, and so on and so on....its VERY frustrating. But like I said, a video will do it justice.

emm what i know its that with the cel if u have vtec it doesnt work and ur tune will be all messed up but i dont think this has to do with the jumping of the afr. cuz u have the vvti right??

Whats the CEL code? and is the car obd2? It almost looked like a closed loop was fighting the tune?

dont know what cel code is..havnt checked it. Its the obd2.

and it only does this when theirs load on the car. Like if its just parked, and I hit the gas its smooth...

Its almost like two maps are fighting with each other. Between 0-10vac is the only spots it jumps...

Sorry i was in school and missed this x. In response to your question that spot where it sounds like the maps are fighting eachother? well, thats whats happening...I have the same thing on my car. a point where the factory map gives up and the greddy map takes over. You can smooth it out by finding that point on your rpm or voltage settings for the maps and making them closer to match.
