Hi everyone. My name is Steve I was referred to this site by Accord2nrz. I've got a 1997 Honda Accord Wagon EX. Its an automatic and is also OBD2.

I picked up a turbo kit for it and I'm currently in the planning stages. Before anybody says it, yes I am aware that the Honda auto trans is the weak point of my build, and it can't handle major power gains. I plan to run between 5 and 7 lbs. I don't want a performance hog, I just wanted to give my car a little 'boost' (pardon the pun) for daily driving purposes.

I've found no real sources or major success stories of chipping an auto ECU successfully for this car. Some local guys told me to get a VAFC, and a few other enthusiasts of some forums disagree with that decision due to timing issues it will cause.

A fellow enthusiast on hondasociety.com recommended I pick up a Greddy Emanage Ultimate. He said it can be used on my car without a problem. I haven't found any information anywhere online showing downloadable maps for the F22B1 engine, let alone anything for my particular car.

So I hope to find some guidance here. I tracked down an Emanage Ultimate near me for $300. For that price I don't think I can lose. BUT I need to make sure its something I can use on my car first.

Thanks in advance, I hope somebody here can further educate me :)

Welcome to the site Shar! Wow, that was fast. The trans is indeed weak but surprisingly on my accord the tranny has been the last thing to give me problems. What size turbo you running on your car? I'm using the blue and the injector and ingition harness. But you WILL need o2 sensor adapter becuase fighting the OBD2 closed loop system is a pain in the rear but it can be overcome. I look forward to sharing my ins and outs with ya.

I'm not sure the size of the turbo. Its getting shipped to me on friday. It was so cheap that I couldn't pass it up. Its a turbonetics kit for an H22 and the turbo is TurboXS. I'll have to find a different turbo manifold but there's time for that.

So you're saying I'll need to pick up an injector harness and an ignition harness and an O2 sensor adapter? Does ecu harness not support ignition timing as is? Also, does emanage ultimate cover that ground or do both the blue and ultimate need these harnesses and adapters?

I'd like to make a jumper harness so everything can just 'unplug' if I need. I hate the thought of cutting into the wiring in my car, and I'm hoping there's a way to avoid it.

Actually I believe giff tech makes jumper harnesses? (I could be wrong). but the ultimate may actually include those settings. I know the blue is the one that needs the additional harnessess. I'll have to double check. I do have a second manifold here I may be willing to sell. Aside from that though treadstone is the only company i know of that makes manifolds for our accords any more. many other companies discontinued them over 2 years ago.

If you decide to sell it, let me know how much you want! :)

sure thing! I should know within the next few days since i'll be putting my setup together to look at how much clearance I will have for a new exhaust. Does your kit come with a downpipe?

Apparently it comes with the flange, need get a downpipe made. I don't get the kit until next week. Can't wait to inventory everything and make sure I don't miss a single thing!
