My name is Bobby, and I'm from Houston, TX. I drive a 01 Honda Civic Lx, and I am boosting it soon. I have most of the parts and I am doing a ton of research, so that if anything should come up Ill at least have an idea how to fix it. I am getting an EMB of a trade for some stereo equip and they didn't buy the support cd for it. Ive been to the forums and stumbled upon this one, and so far this one has helped me the most about Emanage. Great website and forum. Lots of info. Excellent source for downloads.

oh wow, how long a drive is it for you? Remember to hit the off peak hours, (not lunch). Otherwise you'll sit for 30 minutes at the gate trying to get in.

Hey everyone, thank you for the warm welcome. I just got back from getting my emanage. ACCORD2NRZ: the traffic wasnt too bad. I have a real Noobie question. Since I got the unit used (don't it works) the only harness it came with is the one that plugs in to "connector 1". Is this the only one I need? I am putting it in a 01 civic lx (non-vtec) F/I. Another question; is there any difference in wiring this unit for a non-vtec vs one with vtec? Ive seen the vtec wiring but havent for the non. Also (sorry so many questions) what are the options for connecting this unit to a laptop? Cables? Thanks for all the help in advance.

uuh yeah the main connector, the one that plugs into port 1, is the only one that you get with the unit. there is an injector harness and ignition which give you increased control over the fuel injectors and ignition timing. IMO for the emanage they are essential because they unlock the full potential of the emb blue. As far as cables yea you need special cable to connect it to your laptop. The software you can download from here and Giff-Tech sells cables here on the site as well. As for vtec and non-vtec wiring yes there is a difference in the wiring since the vtec crossover point wire is used. If you don't have a manual fear not becuase we have them in our downloads section.

Also your jumper and rotary switch settings would be different for using vtec.

Welcome to tuning :) It may sound like alot but its just time consuming.
