View Full Version : Running additional Injectors with EMB ???'s

I have been considering this as an option instead of modifying the AFM signal and what not. Basically just running some injectors with their own fuel map and letting the stock ECU do its own thing. This is the problem though. The EMB allows for only 2 additional injectors to be run. It is hard to get fuel supplied evenly by this method to 4 separate runners.

So is it possible to amplify or split the signal so that one could run 4 injectors?

Is this even worth it over just going with the larger injectors and running an O2 clamp?

Thanks

You can put the injector futher up in the intake line, before it splits to each cylinder.

Yeah I can but the number 1 injector gets more fuel then 2 and 2 get more then 3 and so on and so on. This is going to be more of an issue for me with the 4AGE intake manifold as it has 8 runners instead of the normal 4. The only way I could see this working is if it is far enough downstream that it will be vaporized before it gets there but I run into the problem of it pooling up if I have places that it can pool up in the intake tract.

I have 450cc Injectors so I will most likely run them with a clamp.

what about taking multiple injectors and wiring them into one line so they receive the same signal from the emb?

You could look at some additional injector setup pics on the net and see what people do. I would just try to go with 2 additional injectors but that are very big cc wise (like 2 850cc or something) and run them off the additional injector map.

You guys mean Sub-Injector Map right? If not, then wouldn't the EMB still need a signal in for a base duty cycle? I know the Sub-injector Map has the ability to sync with normal injector duty cycle but I'm thinking maybe even that needs a base signal to work off of.

I'm wondering since you don't want to alter the stock injector fuel dispersion, maybe you could just splice into(not sever) your car's stock injector signal and have that go in to the EMB, just to provide something for the EMB to work with than control the extra injectors with the Sub-injector Map.

My thought about extra injectors is, is pulsing no longer necessary? I'm thinking "no" as long as the fuel is being injected as early as possible within the intake plenum. Say right after the throttle plate. I would not be comfy having an injector before the throttle plate, not on a daily driver anyway

You know, this is not the cheapest way, buy you could minimize the need of having to add more fuel through your stock injectors by using a alcohol injection kit. I know for me, it keeps the duty cycles quite a bit lower than what they would be had I not been using it.
