Hi all,

New to this forum but long time member of miataturbo.net, where all things MX5 and boost come together.

I'm running an EMBlue, and had hoped a newer laptop (ASUS eePC) might help with this, but to no avail (previous laptop = DELL Inspiron 6400 and same problem).

Running in real time data (map trace/data logging) via a GIFF cable and driver, and the laptop keeps bluescreening - has anyone else had this same problem and if so how did you manage to resolve it?

I might be able to assist. I use the Asus 1005HA to access the EMB also. I remember I had a lot of difficulties trying to get the little netbook to work with the EMB and through a lot of troubleshooting, I manage to find out its actually some of the Window's Services need to be set to autorun.

Gimme a few days, I'll go back and post a screenshot of the required running services.

you could also try running the program in compatability mode. right click the executable, and go to properties. it is in there.

i know for a fact that different versions of 7 give issues. i had zero problems with the RTM version, and the enterprise version, but i have the bluescreen issue with the ultimate version.

Ok, I have done a screen capture from my 1005HA and these are the services that should be set to automatically start at windows startup.

Try and see if it solves your prob.

OK - I have reset the Services as per the screen capture (hoping I could see all of them from the capture) but I cannot find Compatibility Mode on the Emanage exe.

The screen capture has all the services you need, those services not captured in the shot are not worth noting. You may not have some of the services in the screencap such as eboostr, but just set those you got to autorun.

Regarding the compatibility mode, it's not a setting in emanage, rather in the OS itself I think. Give my suggestion a try first, see if it works for you and post back your results, maybe it could help someone else with the same issue in future.

correct, it is in the OS.

Can you guys get to the compatibility mode option by right clicking the emanage .exe? I can't but then again, I may have disabled it if that is possible.

This is exactly the same thing I found - there is no "compatibility Mode" option upon right clicking "Properties" on the EM exe file.

if u guys wanna do the compatibility, cant do that from the desktop shortcut. u gotta do it in the directory.

C:\Program Files\TRUST\GReddy e-manage support tool\projectGSC.EXE

btw, this is for xp, not too sure for other versions...

^^^^Yup it works. I just checked in Vista, but with Emanage ultimate. I'm not sure where I installed my EMB. lol.

Well it's better but I still get blue screen of death - just after more time - is there a particular compatibility setting/version that is better than others (because XP doesn't appear as an option - just Win95 through to Win2000)

You have the latest versions of the software right?

Running the version of XP that came bundled with my Asus, with updates, and EMB1.49.
