Just wondering is there any way around if we forgot the password?

I got my EMB dyno tune, but the fellow who tune my car dont want to tell me the pass...I got problem on high rpm (knocking) & I think I can solve the problem with retarding the timing.

Since I dont wont to get charge again to do a fine tune...

Not sure you can really do anything with that map if you don't have the password.

The emb can do a HARD RESET but the process I can't remember off hand. I will look it up shortly and get back to you. The other option is to call greddy/trust and have the number underneath your unit ready. I believe there is a universal code to reset the map to zero and unlock it.

In the mean time you can google Emanage Blue Hard Reset.

I wondered about there being some way to do a hard reset. Just be sure to either record or capture images of all your maps and settings before the reset--as it sounds like you just want to edit the existing maps.

If I do hard reset meaning that the existing Map will be gone right...sigh I dont wont to lose my current setting, I just want to retard my timing in high rpm...

but like you said how to record or capture the settings?since when I tried to import setting from EMB they were asking for a password...

I mean actually using a software on you computer to take snapshots of all the maps and settings. I use SnagIt. Or you have to write it all down manually. Make sure you get all the drop down menus and Parameter Settings. It really isn't too bad. Can you export the map and send it to me. I can try and rebuild the map for you wih your current settings and no password. Send it don96799@yahoo.com, unless you are ok with uploading it to our downloads section.

I dont mind to send you my map but how can i obtain the map from my EMB...?

we have to click the icon on top saying "import Data from main unit" right?if I do this the support tools are asking for a password or there's other way to see my map?

Hmmmm. What happens when you turn your car on wih you laptop connected to you EMB? It should load the map/ setting currently on the EMB unit. When that is connected and loaded to you computer try save. It may end up asking for password still. If so the your on your own. However I can try and give you some examples of what I'd do but I need to get on my home computer to do this. Try saving it first though.

I dont know if I'm saving a map or not? start laptop, connect cable, on emb then right away save...

but if I open the file again there's nothing I can see?

I attached my profile, please change back the file type to .gsc again

Dzaster

Nah, that isn't it. It saves as a .GSC file.

Okay.

Get the laptop connected to the EMB to where you can see all the maps and settings that are currently on the EMB unit. Then go to File -> Save as. Make sure for Save as type: it says GSC Files. Pay attention to where it saves and click Save. That file should be a .GSC type and is the one to send. Not sure this all will work for password protected maps though.

its originally .GSC but since I cannot attached .GSC so I change the extension to .TXT so at the first place its .GSC

the file "New" I save using v1.1 while "New1" v1.2

when I connect to EMB I cannot select anything from "map select" ???

wohooooo.....I can see my map :D

What I do is just keep on trying the password (support tools 1.20) and then suddenly it receiving the map from EMB...quickly I save the map and start editing

for those who have same problem might want to try this method

Haha! Serious?! So was it the right password or just the EMB tired of you knockin'on it's door? Very cool man.

i am delighted to hear this. im in the same situation also, my tuner locked the map, which i didnt even know he locked it, and only recently i got the support cable to access it then i noticed it.

i asked him for the password and he doesnt wanna give it to me, even had the audacity to ask me to PAY for the password he set into MY equipment....

anger aside...i have tried your way, using the support tool software to connect to my emanage but i keep on clicking ok and it still doesnt work...am i doing something wrong?

my map is tuned on the 1.49 software. i tried that and the 1.20 software using the clicking on the ok method and still doesnt work.

can you take pity on me and pm me a clearer step by step instruction?

I honestly think radsan was just randomly doing things to make it open. Not sure.

As for password locking. Does he have a signed, by you, authorization to PW lock your unit or have you, in writing, waived your right to access your software. If not, then he needs to give you that frigging PW.

the password is a lost cause already...

wat i need to do is extract the map outta the emanage. do i need to put in any characters into the password box, or do i keep on clicking ok even though the text box is blank?

Dzaster

Seems like he had some characters in the pw text box and just kept trying to submit pw and he got in.

Sorry been away from inet for a while...

what I did is just randomly input a password and keep clicking "OK" then suddenly it receive the MAP from emanage...Guess I just lucky though.

I'll try to put a password into my emanage and will check again how exactly I did it...

rasdan.
its probably a good idea to change the password to something you want and remember, while your in. it may be temperamental down the track. well done.
