Well....is it??

I couldn't pass it up for $100.
It was on sale in my local tuner shops "Used Section".
The salesman said it was off a guys turbo S2000, which was upgraded to EMU.

It wasn't till after I bought it that I found out about counterfeit ones, but i'm no expert so i thought i'd post pics here and see if you guys can help me determine if its fake or not.

If it is fake, will it work just as good as a real one?
Does anyone here actually Own and Use a fake one?
If so how is it working for you?

Thanks in advance guys...

By the way, can someone post pics of their EMB for comparison. I have searched online for pics of authentic emb's but cold not find any close-up, hi-res pics like mine. Thanks again.

Check to ensure the GSC Code number on the bottom of your unit has not been altered. If not then you're good to go, you're only concern should be unlocking the map that is preloaded onto it.

Never knew counterfeits were a problem. That doesn't look fake.

I looked at that site that showed the difference and it looked like mine was fake but it works fine, no problems out of it I've had it installed about 3 years and been boosted about a year and a half. As long as it works and you don't have problems you should be fine.

My connectors are grey, but my logos look authentic. Kinda mixed signals here, my led is yellow. I have a serial number. No problems though.

Interesting.............

I also have grey connectors but all else coincides with the legitz. IDK, mine came with full packaging but no tools and some other stuff as the guy apparently had opened the package. Hmmmmm............. I'm not sure if it has a serial though. I think it does.

Like I said, lol look for the GSC code underneath the unit. but real or fake... if it works who cares right?

True, I've never heard of an emanage blue that was fake that didn't work. If anything the emanage ulitmates might be fakes, they have quite a few problems....just kidding ;).

the easiest way is to look at ur usb input on the emb unit. if its black its real. if its white its a copy. if it works...WHO CARES!?!?!

that is pretty interesting stuffs.

i have white connectors, and inside the USB is also white. i have a proper GSC code and my LED is yellow.

i think this is misinformation.

My connectors are both grey....by that pic it's the copy product.
I need to see what color my usb connector is.

Mine are grey but I have a gsc code and the usb cable is the authentic silver one so who knows. I know it works and that's good enough. Especially since Trust doesn't really honor any sort of warranty on these things in america. Another wierd greddy issue i've always had with them.

Wonder what kind of warranty the counterfeiters might have with their product.:D

My unit is legit but my harness's are not. They are Gray and white on the inisde. I bought the unit used with the tuning cable for $100 and have not hooked it up yet. The tuning cable is even legit.

The Injector and Ignition harness's that I bought sperate for $50 are the so called "fakes". Has anyone had problems from them? Should I be concerned? I can not see why but I thought I would ask. Thanks

Nah, as long as those terminals in those harnesses make contact you should be good. Double check the wire color coding if that's how you're going to install.
