I just got my EMU installed in my 02 G20. I wanted to get familiar with it before the SR20DET swap. I'm glad I did! I am new to this unit and piggybacks, but not tuning. I've tuned with SCT, F.A.S.T., and a small amount with Hondata. I have a few questions I hope someone could help me with or maybe point out something I have missed. I hope this doesn't overwhelm. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

1. When datalogging I have no engine speed reading. I re-checked all my wiring connections today and I had spliced into a cam reference wire instead of a cam position signal. I corrected the connection and thought for sure I would have a signal. None. I do have the crank signal correct. I did not hook up the brown wire pin 23 to the control unit because the foot note in the instructions states "if the crank and cam angle sensors are connected to the ecu, e-manage will recognize the rpm without connecting the rpm signal".

I used a Modis scan tool and scoped out both cam and crank signals going into the EMU, they are perfect in every way.

This has left me stumped as to why I do not see RPM why on the datalog screen. Any thoughts, suggestions. I thought maybe I had a jumper installed correctly. Rechecked them all and I think I got them right?

2. I am also unsure which box I need to check so that I can have an intake air temp sensor and a knock sensor. I have a spliced signal from the IAT going to c38 blue/yel of the EMU. I have the a spliced signal from the vehicles knock sensor going to C32 blue/yel wire of the EMU. When opening CH settings I check the box for intake air temp sensor, then from the drop menu under knock signal, choose in. temp/knock and the check is removed from the IAT box. If I choose w.temp/knock in the drop down menu the box is still highlighted for the IAT, but when I open the datalogger and choose my input data set-up only intake temp sensor is an option, the knock sensor 1 appears but is faded and the box can not be highlighted to turn it on. I have to be missing something simple here?

3. I am also experiencing some software issues. When opening a fuel, spark, or IAT table I can not scroll to the bottom of the table. For example on the injector adjustment table I can scroll all the way to the right and back left to see 500-8,000RPM, but I can not scroll to the bottom of the table to see 5V on the MAF side. The numbers stop at 4V and I can see half of 4.2V. I'm assuming the table continues on 4.4, 4.6, 4.8, 5.0? How do I get to these other cells?

I bought this unit used and was assured it worked perfectly. It had no CD and I downloaded the software from this site.

Welcome to the site! Be sure to post an intro and I hope you become a permanent resident here at diytuning. I dont have much time online but to answer your first question he Emanage (both ultimate and blue I think) receive their engine speed not from the cam signal. You should have a wire the receives the same signal as your speedometer. Example for my Honda its a VSS signal. If you have a shop manual look up the wiring schematic for your speedometer and then trace it back to your ECU. splice into that wire and your engine RPM readout should function perfectly.

Thank you for the welcome. I have been working double shifts so haven't been able to return until now. I know where the RPM signal wire is to the PCM, the instruction clearly sadi if using both cam and crank sensor signals the install of this wire was not necessary. It also says hooking up the cam and crank woauld allow ignition timing to be monitored while datalogging. I'm gonna try to hook up the signal wire today and see what happens. Then I have to try and fix the other stuff.

Update.

I have gotten the engine speed to work in the datalog feature. Simple software and frimware update. I am awaiting a reply from Greddy support for the other issues I am experiencing. I think I know what is wrong with the IAT and Knock sensor PIDS. The problem with the tables not showing in full size has really got me stumped.

Have you tried the method in red.

I did try the area you highlighted. I can manually click and stretch, but it doesn't make the table bigger. It stays that size all the time. Good thought, but not the answer. Thanks for the effort.

Dang! I almost had you indebted to me for LIFE! :D

Nah, that really does suck. So it stretches, but only remains blank/white? Straight whack!

Have you tried installing on another computer?

Almost! But the suggestion to install on another comp was good advise. I now know my laptop is a piece of trash. I downloaded a different version of 1.07 on my desktop. Then downloaded the 2.02 update. Works flawlessly. My laptop for whatever reason can not show the 16 x 16 tables full size. Thank you for your help.

So that "almost" is back to a "for sure". haha! Joke! Good deal man. Care to share the specs of that laptop and OS running?
