Greetings to all, I'm new to DIY Tuning and I heard a lot of good things about you all. I need some help regarding the connection between the e-manage (blue) and my labtop. I read that you can't use usb to usb because the emanage will not have signal but 9 pin will work. The thing is my labtop doesn't have the 9 pin connector. How can I work around this problem? I need a map for a sohc civic minie me supercharged since I swapped out the head it's been running horrible:(, I really need your help.. Thanks in advance, and if there's any thing I forgot to mention please let me know...

So you have the Greddy Support tool cable already--USB to serial?

I have a Toyota so my maps are useless. Sorry.

You should be able to use a serial to usb converter. They have them at radio shack and places online. I have my laptop hooked up serial wise to the emanage and usb wise to my zeitronix wideband for datalogging (the zeitronix was a serial also but I got the serial adapter since I had a free usb port ).Greetings to all, I'm new to DIY Tuning and I heard a lot of good things about you all. You can find the conversion cables on ebay for ~$5 shipped. I bought two and both worked--WBO2 and EMB.

Yeah, I have the serial to usb cable I bought online. I'll check out the conversion cable thanks. But if you do run across any maps I would greatly appreciate all the help...

Can anybody give me some pointers on how to tune my car? Sorry for the dumb question but I got to learn from my teachers...:o

Do some runs and log your afrs from the wideband. See where your afrs are at different rpms and loads and add or subtract fuel as needed. Be careful using the airflow adjustment map to add and subtract fuel since it also effects timing. Remember the basic ignition rule which is to subtract 1 to 2 degress per psi of boost. Tuning is a little tricky but for example I have the zeitronix set up with boost sensor and egt sensor. I can log my boost and egts at given rpms so as far as timing goes I reference egts. I also have a obd2 reader to know what my base timing is. You will also see your injector duty cycle (if you have the injector harness) to make sure you have enough head room fuel wise. in other words, do alot of research before you try to tune because there is a little bit to learn.

Thank's for the tip. I'm going to try it out this weekend, by the way all the info for research I can find where? Please forgive me I'm new to the tuning so I'll be asking alot of questions. I'll let you guys know what the results of this weekend's tuning go's.Thank you so very much.....

Will a velocity stack have any gains with a FI car?, or is it better for N/A cars???

No Velocity stacks are somewhat improbable on FI cars. Reason being is the stack is designed to aid in getting more airflow into the Intake Manifold. Well, in the case of Forced Induction you are packing more air into the engine anyways. At least me personally I've never seen stacks on an FI.

Short answer to your question. I believe it's only for NA cars.

Stacks are definitely N/A only. They're mostly designed to be able to feed air directly to the intake without all the pipe work normally found under the hood. They also are used (if properly designed) to tune powerband with various lengths and diameters of trumpets.
