I signed on months ago but never posted!
I didn't want to be a scavenger so i just didn't post you digg?

I ain't knocking no Terc. I love the 2 door mid 90's models. I like the E series motor so much that I considered using a 4EFTE (5EFTE actually) in a 1986 MR2. My reasoning was with a T25 and a good tune it would be light yet still powerful and responsive. Weight is your enemy, the only way to overcome a fat @$$ is with Torque and HP. However if you build it light from the get go then you will be a step ahead. I would much rather have 150whp in 2000lb car then 200hp in 2500 lb car. The main reason is that the components will not have to be nearly as expensive. It does not take huge 6 pot calipers to slow the car or ridiculously expensive coil overs to make it handle well.
This is the reason why I own a 86 MR2. However the Terc is good daily choice and can be just as capable.
Good luck.

mhamrick, them some words of props man.;) That being said, 4speed, kennymp3, myself, and a few others here own mid 90's 2dr's. Most all swapped. 4speed aint' boosted yet, but he's working on it and his thing is weight reduced TO THE MAX. More than I would be able to deal with. lol. However, don't think we could touch an MR2 gutted and 4agte'd.:o
