Spiffy stuff man. I have conquered soldering issues with flux.
Did some wiring and just went to town with the flux and it all worked out nicely so I'm good. Thanks for the heads up on the different solder types kenny.

hi im new in the forum, from dominican republic... im looking forward to learn how to make my own harness for my 4efte ecu m/t ep91 ecu has 3 plugs 26pin, 16pin, 12pin
http://i.ebayimg.com/12/!BUlo3fQBGk~$(KGrHgoH-EUEjlLl0EpmBKORqYg74w~~_1.JPG
i want to know the basics of making this harness, like what type of wires to use, what is the recommended length, where can i get the plugs for my ecu and the plugs for the emanageB connecter 1 and 2
any precautions that i should take, or how to test it after i finish it

Check this DIY HERE (http://www.tercelreference.com/articles/emanage_harness/emanage_harness.html)
For the plugs you can take one from any tercel, pase starlet and use those. You may not have the correct color layout on the P&P harness if you use a different one, but it does not not effect the operation of it. You'll also need the plugs from in side the ecu--so you'll need a spare ECU to crack open and
take the reveicing plugs from.
As for wiring, the best thing is doubl-tripple check all wiring.
Kennymp3 can help you out more than I can. That is the extent of my knowledge on thsi stuff. Oh, we have diagrams for wiring in to the 4efte.

If you are looking for an official emanage harness you can find them on eBaqy. If you are looking to DIY a hareness/plug then see HERE (http://drizze99.conforums3.com/index.cgi?board=emangeneral&action=display&num=1107208608)
As for the plugs for the ECU, I know for sure you can pull those ECU plugs from Tercel/Paseo's. Both 26 and 16 pin plugs. Like I said earlier the wires may be of different color but they will function all the same as long as you can go based off of pinout orientation(numbers) instead of color identities.

i understand that part, but 5 speed engine have a 3rd plug of 12 pins :)
and thanks for that link

" If you are just splicing into the signal solder the two wires together and add a third for the spliced lead. If you are splitting the signal make sure you don't solder those wires at all. "
i need help with this bit... its basically cutting the plastic off of the main wire and splice the wire that goes into the greddy connector? but i shouldn't solder them?
something like this?

Sorry. I thought the 3rd plug was 16pin as well. I see its 12pin. If you can get you hands on the manual 4age ecu harness then you'd have all 3 including the 12pin. I was thinking that there are Paseo's that use 3 plug ECU's but I think the 2 smaller plugs are both 16 pin. Not certain, but I think so. So your best bet is indeed the 4age.
As for the not soldering bit, its not a big deal if you do or don't. It's more user preference in that, if you don't solder you could pull out the extension/plug & play harness and quickly diconnect the injector, MAP sensor, and ignition wires and just plug them back into each other so the car would run as stock. If you solder instead of the butt connectors then you will have to cut and splice to get them back together in order for your car to run again. Butt connectors come on the emanage harness from factory. I used the butt connectors on injector, MAP sensor, and ignition, wires. Those 3 are the ones that you actually sever the wire. The other spliding you have pictured, solder those for sure. Those are just being fed signal and not altering before sending out to car. Like I said, use preference.

ok i already ordered some of the connectors and plugs, another thing and maybe the last dont worry haha...
all the wires that goes from the emanage to the jumper (injectores and ignition wires) they all *intercept* wires from the jumper? i mean nothing goes directly to the emanage?
Dzaster

Yes, everything is at the harness unless you have other things--like I have an O2 clamp and Autotune so I have some miscellaneous wires that are coming from elswhere to the EMB.
What plugs you order? Maybe you can share. Also what about the wires with the pins/terminals on teh end that fasten into the plug. The plugs come with them? If so, please give a link, site, or source. Thanks.

No prob kenny.
Alan, not sure if you've seen the thread we have here about the Autotune, but check that out and if you have questions concerning this it then you can post up there so not to derail this thread--P&P/Extension harnesses.
HERE
(http://www.diytuning.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179) is the autotune thread.

Why not this set HERE (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GREDDY-EMANAGE-BLUE-IGNITION-AND-FUEL-INJECTOR-HARNESS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14 QQhashZitem23026364eeQQitemZ150363923694QQptZMotor sQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories). Shipping a problem?
Actually I don't know about the main harness plug, but its been said an older RX7 stereo plug is the same as ignition harness. HERE (http://drizze99.conforums3.com/index.cgi?board=emangeneral&action=display&num=1107208608) is where I got that from.

today i had a lot free time :P... and disassembled a stereo plug and took the wires and plugged them directly to the emanage...
i would of course use electrical tape to prevent wires touching others.
has this been done?, what could go bad if one wires disconnects while the car running, or if a wire touches an other.. ?

Hey alan, can you get that picture resized for us. It's hard to see what I'm looking at--but I do know what it is.
I've heard of doing that. You can do that, but use heat shrink tubing instead of electric tape. You may not want to, but solder them in as well. That would be best. Or maybe you can form like a mold with hot glue after you get the wires on the pins. I understand you wanna save cash, but if they short or wiggle loose, you may be in for a new emanage unit, car's computer, or even a replacement motor. Don't think that would have been worth not taking the extra step.
Coming loose could definitely short something or just prevent your injectors from pulsing. You'd really be in trouble then.

ok i found the connector and plugs... but the 1st plug (26pin) is missing 3 wires... according to this ecu pin out diagram taken from TOYOTAGTTURBO.COM the wires are the number 21 (S1 ECT solenoid), 20 (boost control), 19 (check connector)
what should i do?

Just get another harness plug from a Tercel/paseo and take the wires with terminals from that.

Yeah Dzaster is correct I usually keep a few spare connectors around just to
fill up the plug.
Here are two more jumper harnesses I finished up last week.......

This is for an ep91 three plug ecu and man was it a pain to find the correct plugs for it.
And here is a 2 plug ep82 jumper.......

The 3 plug found its home in MD and the 2 plug made it to California:D

As well as unwiring.;)
Oh and and clean install. Kenny has scolded me on many an occasion on being lazy with my electrical. Justified and well deserved scoldings. With wiring I always find myself wanting to cut corners--wether it be use of insulation, flux, zip tie, whatever. Think I'm getting better. Thanks kenny. lol

Nah Dzaster...thank you sir, with your help I have really learned alot more on the EMB and profec E0-1. About the scolding I just wanted to make sure you
didnt fry all of your hard work and to insure a worry free install.
Im hoping to hear back from airswoosh1 to see if his install went smoothly:confused:
