How does Volumetric Effeciency effect the operation of your car?

Its basically the efficiency of the engine to move the air coming in and out of the cylinder. The ratio of air and fuel compared to the static volume of the cylinder. Bigger valves means more air, more fuel. VTEC, iVTEC, VVTLi are different ways to increase it. Turbo works as well.

Very good, now for those that don't know how does knowing the VE of your car relate to tuning it?

VE is the area that an engine can create the highest cylinder pressures and therefore the most torque. Usually this area requires the timing to be retarded and sometimes a slightly richer mixture to avoid detonation. If the tuner has the ability to vary the valve timing the VE range can be moved around somewhat up or down the rev range to acheive different torque curves to suit different requirements based on what will be done with the car as well as what other supporting mods it has.
