Dsm Emanage Sensor

So i have a 90 eclipse gsx i just purchased. It has an emanage blue but im a little confused about the sensor setup. The car is running a gm 3' maf sensor and has a greddy pressure sensor. Why do i need both? I dont see how either of them work together.

Maybe work has been done on the motor and it falls out of the parameters of the maf sensor, thus adding the pressure sensor.
