First off Great Site!!!!!
And props to Dzaster for helping me find this forum.
I just got an EMB yesterday, and did some research about the support
tool and cd. I found the download for the greddy software.(Again Big Thank's)
So really my question is since my laptop has the DB-9 connector port will the
cable from radio shack work? I called RS and they told me the cable does come with software.
Thank's for any help that might come my way:)
Kenny

Btw, I did read up on this thread and Im still a little confused.

I wasnt too sure what this sensor was, but dzaster seem's to think its a
GM map sensor.

ken dawg! You scoring sucka. I know we already talked about this, but just for informational purposes, I don't think you can use the radioshack DB9 cable in place of the greddy support tool cable.

I trust you will double check all those wires that are labeled. I would and you should.:D

Also kenny, I just noticed this guys thread about serials. Just to give you a little better understanding about the cable.

The cable will not work. The greddy support tool cable has the wiring reversed of what a normal cable would go, Giff on this site makes them and some other great stuff for the emb so hit him up. I will be creating his board soon hopefully if another mission dosen't come down for me. sorry i haven't been very active everyone.

I will try harder ;)

You are doing well with what you have on your plate Accord. I hate to make things anymore confusing than they outta be, but if they are indeed reversed then perhaps a PC-To-PC data transfer cable might work. Like THIS (http://cooldrives.stores.yahoo.net/usb20pcdatrc.html)

As for Giff. I showed kenny Giff's stuff one day and the next day it was sold out.

Thank you Accord2nrz and Dzaster for the clarification.
Saved me $35 buck's:)

I failed in buying one of those cables Dzaster pointed out to me, and they
sold out the very next day......

But looks as if Giff will have more stock on 4/17/09..... So the wait wont be
terrible.
Again thank's guy's for the help, Im sure I will have more ?'s soon.
